What's up everyone... just checking into devArt again for the first time in a while. Lots has happened since I've last been active.

For one, I got accepted into my first choice college, the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, where I will study Graphic Design. I already got $18,000 from them in scholarships, and I was entered into their "Award of Excellence" scholarship contest for having an "exceptional portfolio." That one has a top prize of a full ride to the school, and 10 $12,000 scholarships and 15 $10,000 scholarships. So my school life is pretty good.

Other than that, things are going good as well. Today I went to Amoeba Music, the best music store in the world (and in most cases, the cheapest), for the new Big D and the Kid's Table split with Brain Failure called Beijing To Boston. Loving music as much as I do, and having $75 to burn, I got four other albums and Roswell Season 1 (which was a steal at only $19.99...). The albums I got were:

-Rancid "Let's Go"
-7 Seconds "Take It Back, Take It On, Take It Over!"
-Gogol Bordello "Gypsy Punks Underdog World Strike"
and
-The Epoxies "Self-titled"

So far I've listened to Beijing to Boston, and it's pretty good. I'd never heard Brain Failure before, and the songs on the Split are cool. I'm a huge fan of Big D (seeing them in March with Anti-Flag and Alexisonfire), and the six songs they did for the EP kick fucking ass. They're probably not as good as How It Goes, but after months of listening to that album, it's refreshing to listen to some new kickass ska-punk from them. I also got a book by China Mieville, on of my favorite authors called The Scar, which I'll start reading tonight or tommorow maybe.

I've also started playing Prey, which is a pretty good game so far. There was one part in the Crash Landing level where I killed myself at least 30 times before I realized that the sun-looking symbol on the floor made special stuff appear when I spirit walked (like a spirit bridge... because, you know... that would help quite a bit with a big gap in the floor.). Unfortunately, I had the ending ruined for me by G4TV's XPlay, but I still look forward to playing the rest of the game because it's been pretty cool so far.

Anyway... look for some new stuff from me in the near future. I had to do a few new pieces for my Award of Excellence portfolio, so those should make an appearance soon. If not, hit me up by email to remind me...
